Christian, clean romance where tragedy meets faith

This story is a drama and romance with bible quotes, questions of faith, and a heartwarming story of love and redemption. I enjoyed the storyline of the hero who experiences a tragic accident that shakes him to the core as well as his faith.

I liked that the story offered an incident that might shake anyone's belief in life and good. Also, how the author allowed the storyline to unfold and didn't rush revealing the twist or the romance that has time to grow.

Then there are those kids. Caroline won my heart. From the moment Karlee describes her pupil, Caroline, I wanted a good outcome for her. The theme of family and friends being there for each other and never giving up in each is a strong and satisfying element to this story.

Family and friends refuse to give up on Eli, and his struggle feels real. It's a tough situation that absorbed me into the story. I wanted to see how it was play out, and overall it delivered.

I recognized some characters from the author's wonderful Wounded Souls series, which is not a Christian, clean romance series, but has strong storylines and characters. It was a nice addition.

For me, the Christian references were a bit much and took away from the story after a while, and there were a couple of coincidences that were a bit of a stretch.

This would be perfect for readers who want a faith-based, clean (no sex) romance with a test-of-faith and family values.

FULL OF INSPIRATION, LOVE AND DEVOTION....

After a long shift as a firefighter, Elijah Harris was on his way home, tired but on top of the world. He loved being able to help people. He had a great job, loving friends and family and the most important part of his life, he had his belief in God. All was well, until his faith was tested by witnessing a horrific accident. He couldn't save the man that was begging him to and he barely made it out himself. Why would God forsake him like this? How could he give everything to God and not be able to do what he was trained to do? So many questions without answers and they were not being answered. So instead of buckling down and praying, he ran.

Karlee was going to get married. She was going to have 2.5 children with her wonderful fianc�e Timothy. Teaching children by day and planning her future by night. With God in her corner, nothing could go wrong. Until it did. Losing Timothy in that accident wasn't something she was prepared for. Her perfect world as she knew it, was over.

Until God stepped in with his plan and brought Elijah and Karlee together in a twist of fate or is it God's plan. Follow these two on their journey to finding themeselves, possibly each other and their restored faith. Only God can guide their faith.....

WOW, WOW, WOW...This book was amazing. My heart broke for both Karlee and Eli. Going through so many different emotions but oddly some similar ones after Timothy's death. Although the first part of the book focuses on Eli and his struggle with not only not being able to save Timothy, but also his faith. I loved that he tried to run and drink his beliefs away, but who can really run from God, he's everywhere and Eli soon finds out when he meets Karlee and Caroline. That little girl was such an instrumental part of their story (not saying, you have to read it to know who I'm talking about).
I think we have all questioned our faith once in our life and this book was a testament that if we follow the path that God puts forth without question, we will be rewarded. This book gave my faith a boost and I loved all the characters and I can't wait for Charlie's story. Have to read to know. The writing was awesome and the story flowed. You could feel Amanda Lansclos' amazing faith and love for God pour out of this story. I applaud her writing and faith in God. I hope everyone feels as lighthearted after reading this as I did. Enjoy!

Not for me

I did not like the writing style of this author, so the first couple captures were really rough. But then the second half of the book, actually got worse. I truly don't see any point to the chapters after Eli's car accident. The alcoholism is miraculously fixed, without God. They live together for a few weeks, even though they don't believe in it. And there are a multiple new characters introduced that add nothing. They are being called mom and dad...after a couple weeks... by teenagers when they aren't married, or living together or adopted. Then they still don't get married for 2 years at the epilogue.
The only redeeming value was the authors use a scripture, but even then it was just "found" by randomly thumbing through the bible.

Not Enough Stars for this Masterpiece!

Whewie! I had many reservations about buying this book. The previous reviews made me skeptical, especially when I looked at the price tag and acknowledged the fact that I was going to bleed to death reading a blah-blah boring has-been couple of spineless professors rant about their lame memoirs and anecdotes lazily collected by one of their pet clones.

To be precise, this book was written by two of the most influential consultants, professors and businessmen in the world. They worked with sales forces and represented companies of all sizes, in addition to being 'team-driven' by their own successful consultancy spanning thirty years.

In many instances, they gained from the output of academia and collaborated their research with students associated from the prestigious Northwestern's J.K. Kellogg Graduate School of Management.

This book has foundation, structure, conceptual analysis and excellent ideas for any student, manager-in-training or business executive who is trying to avoid the "art of selling" or "quick buck motivational" 'diaper-training series' collections (sold at newsstands everywhere).

There are chapters from other excellent contributors related to Internet Strategies, Market Strategy and Segmentation. I found the material to be factual, concise and thoughtful.

This is a rare book written about sales forces. Sales forces are the life-blood of ANY company. Your ability to communicate with people will increase your power, wealth and happiness. A sales force can easily become 'unruly beasts' because the sales force are people dealing with people. Great sales managers must understand CONCEPTS about how to FOCUS, CHANNEL and DISCIPLINE people without disrupting profitability...AND LOSING GREAT PEOPLE!!!

"The Complete Guide to Accelerating Sales Force Performance provides education the way a textbook does, but it also provides guidance. It advises, similar to a manager's manual, and it seeks to provide the sales manager with an understanding of the entire sales force system by presenting frameworks for sales force design and performance enhancement."

Buckle Up! This book contains "all muscle and no fat." It is a mental and physical exercise book that requires considerable attention. "The quality of the selling organization has a direct effect on a company's sales and profitability." Now, time for me to mold my sales force into terrific shape. :)

A Good Read!

To boost your sales group's performance, give your salespeople very specific assessments and instructions, as per authors Andris A. Zoltners, Prabhakant Sinha and Greggor A. Zoltners. The trouble here is that the instructions are not only detailed, they are highly technical. You have to see sales as a science to make the best use of the graphs, charts, lists, diagrams and formulas. If you can make your way through the academic writing, you'll find some useful hard data, such as statistical evidence that backs the need for precise sales performance assessments. Despite its lengthy retelling of some very basic sales principles, we recommend this manual to the audience its authors suggest, "sales managers, top managers, salespeople who want to advance professionally, divisional presidents and business owners" plus business school students. If you're going to be academic, you might as well learn something.

I was asked by my Managing Director to read this book. This book covers both the soft and hard aspects of Sales Force Effectiveness. hjas a complete top down framework to analyse,design and manage a Sales tesm as per the needs of the Organization. Some of the analytics given are both simple and hav a "aha" value.

Highly recommended for all Sales and Non Sales managers. Every organizatrion will find something in this book that will improve their Sales Staff performance.

Great set, but a bit too shallow

The new form of the Fonseca set is better with it all put in 3 volumes, and it looks great. I find it to be a good general reference and study tool but it lacks some depth that you would get from books dedicated to each of the topics. I wouldn't expect this to be the only book an oral surgeon needs, although by a look at the topics it may appear so, but it is a good addition to your library. My thanks go to the authors for continuing to put out such great texts.

Comprehensive and Current

This three volume set is the most comprehensive work to date and, I believe, outdoes every similar text in recent memory for this subject matter. I have an internal bias, but aside from that, the work represents the most comprehensive and current collection of material on Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery one can own at the moment. The organization of the text is well thought out and well executed. The specialty area has expanded, and this text has kept pace very nicely. I would suggest it for students, residents, fellows, OMS faculty, OMS private practitioners, and other head and neck specialists.

An all-in-one maxillofacial surgery

This 3-volume oral and maxillofacial surgery covers the field of oral, implant, trauma, orthognathic, esthetic and cleft and craniofacial surgery. A separate section (Vol.II, section II), deals with surgical pathology and second one with TMJ disorders. A separate colour atlas at the end of every volume is included. This, more than 3000 pages, book is a comprehensive reference to a wide field of oral and maxillofacial surgery. A CD-ROM is missing, otherwise a very important tool for the trainee and the specialist as well.

In addition to teaching humor writing, he has extensive international experience as a teacher, speaker, and seminar leader on various topics such as motivation, death education, and interpersonal communication. Not what I was expecting, more of a catalog of funny people and quotes on humor.

I was hoping for more of an informational product, telling about actually crafting humor yourself. To me this appears to be more of a listing of sayings about jokes and humor. It's well written and interesting but it doesn't appear to come off as it's portrayed. For the most part the book is a paragraph about being funny, using someone as an example. Then it's proceded by a quote, after each paragraph. This doesn't allow you to really get into the text, which I find irritating too.

Comedy Writing Secrets very much deserves a five-star rating. I have always enjoyed comedy but never felt personally capable of writing my own. After reading this guide, I now have the tools to give it a try. I am so glad I chose this book. The author structured the chapters in such a way that kept my interest all the way through. I was pleasantly surpised by how often I laughed out loud! While comedy writing is a subject that requires particular interest, I think it is fair to assume almost everyone is interested in adding more laughter to their life. Comedy Writing Secrets has given me a roadmap to just that. I recommed this book.

This book is very funny and very educational. The author does a fantastic job of informing the readers through examples and scenarios. It sparked my imagination and gave me a new insight into comedic writing that I would never have found otherwise. I really respect the the author's bold approach to writing a guide book on something that many people believe is a natural-born gift, instead of a learnable skill. I feel very much more capable of my skill after this book. Also, the quotes throughout the book kept me interested and were laugh out loud funny. I highly recommend this book.

Ray's barbershop isn't the place to learn strategies for trading options and commodities. Instead, his advice covers the basics of RRSPs, mutual funds, real estate, insurance, and the like. His first and most important rule is "pay yourself first." Take 10 per cent off every pay cheque as it comes in and invest it in safe interest-bearing instruments. Through the magic of compound interest, this 10 per cent will turn into a substantial nest egg over time. This book isn't about how to get rich quick. It's about how to get rich slowly and stay that way.

Wealthy Barber Changed My Life

I read this book when I was about 30 years old, just getting established in a good career. It had a huge impact on how I think about money, insurance, and savings. I adopted the common sense approaches in the book, and now, 20 years later, I'm very well off financially. I don't think I'd be where I am today if I hadn't established those healthy patterns when I was 30.

This book is an easy read for anyone who is willing to take an initial interest in their financial picture. It is straight forward, easy to read and very uncomplicated. Many people I know get all confused about financial matters. This book will not confuse you, rather, it will entertain you and get you started along the lines of financial planning. I bought 4 copies so I can lend them out to my friends!!!
